The Nottingham Gay Gordon Investment Club was started in 2006 by a group of Scottish Gay Guys who all worked for a credit referencing agency in Nottingham.
The original members all had an interest in stocks & shares and felt that by pooling their bonuses (£5,000) could get a better return than investing individually or entrusting a bank to invest the money for them. The club now has assets of circa £56,000 and is virtually self funding i.e. the members only pay a very modest subscription each month.
Only one of the original club members is still in the club, the others have moved out of the area.
The club membership now stands at 25 and welcomes enquires to join the club from members of Derby and Nottingham's Gay & Lesbian community (with or without any investing experience) although applications to join the group from straight people are considered if they have a skill, expertise (or have a lot of dosh!) and the club committee thinks would benefit the clubs wider membership.
The club is particularly interested to hear from people with Forex experience, an area the club used to be very successful with until the member who introduced it to the club moved away.
We meet every three weeks at various Gay haunts around Nottingham.
